5 Symptoms of Social Anxiety Disorder
Do you have anxiety issues or panic attacks on a regular basis - do you fear that you may be experiencing symptoms
of social anxiety disorder? If so, it is a good idea to learn what those symptoms may be so that you can get the
help you need to work through the panic attacks and take back the control you've lost over your life.
What are these symptoms so you can begin to look for them in your life?
1) Do panic attacks that frequently occur in situations where you fear being judged by others? This could be
something as simple as recurring stage fright, fear of public speaking, or an inability to give presentations at
work. When these attacks are so frequent that they disrupt your life or cause you to rearrange your schedule in
order to avoid them; it's time to take matters into your own hands.
2) Do you avoid social situations that might make you uncomfortable? You should never miss out on important events
in your life and the lives of your friends and family because you are afraid of having a panic attack or triggering
other symptoms of social anxiety disorder. It is possible to treat this disorder and move on with your life.
3) Do you allow your fears to interrupt your daily routines? If you find yourself canceling appointments, avoiding
lunch dates, or skipping meetings or lectures that could improve your position at work or spark your personal
interests then you may want to consider finding a proper treatment for your symptoms of social anxiety
disorder.
4) Do you have few friends? Friends are difficult to maintain when you are constantly seeking ways of staying out
of the lime light. It is also difficult to create new friendships when you are unwilling to step outside of your
comfort zone and meet new people. One of the most disheartening things about the various symptoms of social anxiety
disorder is that they rob you of essential friendships and human interaction.
5) Have you experienced depression or are you facing substance abuse issues? These are other common symptoms of
social anxiety that are difficult to ignore and need to be treated quickly. Depression and substance abuse alone
can ruin lives. When combined with a withdrawal from society and other problems commonly associated with social
anxiety disorder they can have an even more debilitating impact.
If you experience one or more of these symptoms on a regular basis; it's a good idea to seek some form of treatment
for social anxiety disorder. The good news is that there are many effective treatments available that will enable
you to overcome your anxiety and return to a normal life.
