The Relationship Between Stress and Anxiety
When it comes to stress and anxiety you will find that one, in many cases, serves only to feed the other. It
doesn't matter which was there first, they seem to serve one another quite well and nothing good ever really comes
from either. The key for treating the combination of stress and anxiety is finding a treatment option that works
well for you. You do not have to go through countless hours at ridiculous rates of counseling in order to treat one
or both of these driving forces in your life. Try some of these things below and see what a difference they make on
the stress and anxiety levels in your life.
1) Yoga and/or meditation. Yoga and medication are both soothing influences when done properly. No matter what age
or condition your body is in, chances are that you could benefit from practicing yoga and learning the mental and
breathing exercises that go along with meditation as a form of relieving stress and removing anxiety from your
life. These are not quick and immediate fixes but over time are a lasting influence for the better.
2) Hypnosis. This is another form of removing stress and anxiety from your life that is gaining credibility as more
and more people incorporate it into their routines. Hypnosis is a powerful way of learning to harness the power of
the human mind. Since anxiety and stress both impact the mind, learning to put mind over matter is an excellent
method for dealing with these conditions.
3) Hobbies. If you don't have a hobby that relaxes you and takes your mind off the causes of stress and anxiety in
your life it is time to find one. Put together puzzles, learn a craft, take up flying kites. Do something that is
going to take your mind off the general troubles in your life for a little bit of time each and every day. Make it
a priority. Shelving a little bit of your schedule each day in order to accommodate some time for personal pleasure
will do more than you will ever know for your mental health and well being in addition to relieving stress and
anxiety.
4) Herbal remedies. There are plenty of herbal remedies and teas that are created for the purpose of soothing a
troubled soul. Drink deeply, enjoy the fragrance, and learn to love those moments away from the worries of the
world. It is almost impossible to worry about anything while enjoying a nice cup of tea. If you haven't tried this
ancient of pleasures recently, now is a great time to acquaint yourself with the ritual of drinking tea. If that
alone doesn't work, try some stress reducing herbal remedies in addition to the tea.
Stress and anxiety can take over your life if you allow them to. It's a vicious circle to find yourself in. If you
feel that this is the story of your life, take steps today to relieve the stress and eliminate the anxiety before
it takes control.
